White & Natural Silks by the metre - Undyed Margilan Silk Scrim 2.3 from Uzbekistan, 10gsm 250 x 90cm cut length

Margilan Silk Scrim is extremely lightweight with a lovely sheen. It is perfect for nuno felting, mixed media, embellishment and other crafts. Cold wash only as there is likely to be some shrinkage.

At the moment we have it available in 2.5 metre lengths, which are ideal for dyeing and/or felting. The long sides are the selvedges, and the shorter ends are cut.

It is perfect for dyeing with Acid dyes or Quick Color microwave dyes, but is probably too delicate for the silk painting gutta technique (although please let me know if you have used it!). It is the most difficult fabric to cut so edges may be a little uneven! Please note that this fabric is very fine and any slubs and irregularities are inherent to the fabric. We have found that there may also be a few small marks on the fabric, which are likely to be close to the edge but not always.
