Once you have completed your personal details during the checkout process, you will then be taken to Sage Pay to complete the secure payment.
Visa, Mastercard or American Express: please select the relevant button to select payment type. Sage Pay will reserve the funds for your order, but the money will not be released until your order is picked.
PayPal: please select the PayPal button and log in to your PayPal account.
If paying using PayPal you will be charged for the whole order immediately, even if it includes backorders and preorders. If we are out of stock of any item we will let you know and process a refund using PayPal.
Orders over £150 receive a 4% discount and those over £250 receive a 10% discount, except for:
Discounts of 10% are available on applicable products for school and college orders - the website will automatically work this out for you during checkout if you place an official order. Discounts will be given to bona fide full-time schools and further education colleges only, for delivery to the educational establishment address. Education orders can only be accepted if they are accompanied by an official order number which is given by the finance department of the school or college.
Free delivery on orders over £75 within the UK. 10% will be added for UK postage and packing, with a minimum of £3.50 for most orders (minimum £1.95 if the order includes only light-weight and flat items such as silk scarves, dyes, lighter magazines and smaller books). Some heavy items including frames and Freezer paper rolls already have the postage included in the price. The website will automatically work out postage within the UK for you.
If we need to send more than one shipment from one order within the UK, we generally charge the full postage charge with the first shipment, and back orders will be sent with no extra postage charge.
International postage is not charged at checkout as every order varies. We will contact you with shipping options and costs once your order has been weighed. We do not confirm your payment until you agree to the charge.
For international orders, if we need to send more than one shipment we may add extra postage for back orders, as the charge is based on the total weight of the order - we will notify you by email.
During this difficult period we welcome your orders as we know how important it is to keep making arts and crafts. We may take a little longer to process your order than normal, and Royal Mail may take longer too.
Order are sent First Class by Royal Mail within the UK, unless the order is very heavy or bulky, or includes frames, when it may go by Parcelforce or by courier.
If we are out of stock of an item we will notify you, unless it is already listed as a pre-order or out of stock. We will send the rest of the order, and despatch the backorder as soon as we can. The current situation will affect deliveries from our suppliers and we may not be able to give delivery dates for items that are out of stock.
If the item is not as you expected you are welcome to return it within 28 days for a refund, provided the item is in perfect saleable condition. Please email or phone us first. Please make sure to include your name and address, and whether you would like a refund or exchange for the item. We are unable to accept for return items ordered specially such as steamers or other special orders, or cut fabric lengths. If we have sent the wrong item in error we will refund or replace, and pay for the return postage of the item.
Prices may be subject to change at any time, as the suppliers that we deal with change their prices at different times of the year. Prices include VAT at the current rate. Our VAT registration number is GB 669 0866 85.
If you are ordering internationally VAT will be removed from applicable items. Note that books and magazines are sold without VAT. You are responsible for any taxes and customs duty applied in your country, which we cannot give guidance on.
As of 2021, EU customers no longer pay VAT, but are likely to be charged tax when their parcel goes through customs.
If something is wrong with your delivery, or any items are missing please email or phone to let us know within 5 days of receiving your order. We are only human, and some orders are very complicated! A quick message should put things right. Please note that the receipt is usually within a clear wallet on the outside of your parcel, marked "documents enclosed".
Rainbow Silks can accept no responsibility for the performance of products we supply, as the conditions of use are beyond our control. Some of the dyed products are hand-dyed, and we cannot be held responsible for colours running or fading.
Please test any product out first on the materials that you intend to use for your main project. Please check fabrics for flaws before cutting or painting, as claims cannot be made for the use of dyes on faulty fabrics.
If products supplied are faulty we will happily refund or replace them, but cannot give refunds towards other items used.
Always supervise children when using heat, chemicals, or anything sharp or dangerous.
Always test products first on a small piece of work. Take care when handling dyes and chemicals, as some may cause allergic reactions or irritations in some people. Do not breathe in powders - wear a dust mask and rubber gloves when using them. Work in a well ventilated room when using dyes and chemicals, or when burning fabrics and fibres. Keep separate implements for use with dyes.
When microwave-dyeing with steam-fix dyes, always keep separate implements for dyes only (not for food) and keep the bowl covered - it is advisable to keep a separate microwave for this type of dyeing.
