QuiltCon Magazine is the companion to QuiltCon, the US Modern Quilt Guild’s annual event. The 2024 issue features more than 30 quilts included in the show. There are nine quilt patterns in skill levels from Beginner to Challenging and everything in-between. Several patterns feature Foundation Paper Piecing and all patterns are joined by helpful how-tos – the publishers call them Modern Basics – to guide and teach new skills (or as helpful refreshers). Six feature articles cover many subjects, including a profile of Jacquie Gering, the 2024 Featured Speaker for QuiltCon; a tutorial on improv from Maria Shell; and a thoughtful article by Teresa Duryea Wong on Minimalism, featuring two stars of the modern quilt movement.
