Specifically designed for Nuno felting, Schmidt & Bleicher offers a super fine merino needle-punched nonwoven: The FLYFEL®-web. They have given this unique fleece a registered brand name:FLYFEL®-web. FLYFEL® stands for airy (FLY…), light felt (…FEL), and -web is a name for fleece.

Flyfel is a loosely-needled wool fibre sheet, ready to needlefelt onto, or to pull, cut or rip apart for wet-felting or Nuno-felting. Natural white only 100% pure new wool, 19.5 micro weight, easy to dye yourself. 110g/sqm

It is especially comfortable for beginners as well as for professional artists - the difficult and long-winded process of laying out the wool is not necessary any more. The FLYFEL-web Nonwoven can directly be felted by hand or with the help of a dryer and turns into a thin wool-felt for soft scarves or clothing. Felted on fine open silk fabrics (Nuno-felting), creates beautiful, feathery silk-felt fabrics, which can afterwards be painted, printed or embroidered with beads - simply fabulous!

FLYFEL-web Nonwoven is easy to cut: For example - into strings that can be plaited and felted to produce a scarf; or to pieces for the production of clothing or bags (if a thicker felt is wanted, so simply lay one piece of needle-punched fleece on top of another and felt them together); or to ornaments that are felted onto wool or other fabrics.
