Eri or Peace Silks Fibres and Fabrics - NEW Indian Cream Eri/Peace Silk Hand-Loomed Long Scarf - 15 momme/77gsm - 68 x 190cm

A beautiful new substantial-weight silk scarf hand-woven in India from Eri silk, where the silkworm is allowed to emerge naturally from the cocoon.

The colour is a glistening creamy shade and the silk is SO soft! The ends of the scarves have been twisted into a fringe by hand, and the edges are the selvedge of the fabric.

This silk will be suitable for many silk painting and dyeing techniques, along with eco-printing. These are pre-scoured ready to paint or dye, but you may wish to wash in Synthrapol or a gentle hand-wash before colouring - although I did not find this necessary.

The scarves dye beautifully with Acid dyes as shown in the photo, Quick Color microwave dyes, silk paints and dyes, and natural dyes. Suitable for shibori, block printing and more.

Sizes are approximate as these are hand-made to order for us. There may be natural slubs and variations in the fabric, which is part of it's inherent charm.
