White & Natural Silks by the metre - Ideen Natural Chinese Silk Noil (Bourette) lightweight 22, 112cm wide, 110gsm, by the metre

Noil is a thicker textured silk, great for abstract painting and dyeing, also good for printing. It is too thick for the gutta silk painting technique, although would probably work for batik with thick wax strokes.

This 22-momme quality is also called Etamine Silk Noil or Blouse Silk Noil, as it is a relatively light-weight noil. It drapes well and is suitable for blouses, shirts and other garments, along with thicker silk scarves and also home decor.

Noil silk absorbs colours well, and lets them shine with a discreet gleam. It has been bleached to a natural shade.
