Fabrics by the metre for nuno felting - Organic Fine Wool Etamine - prewashed

Fine 100% organic merino wool with a GOTS certificate, in a natural cream shade. 105g/m

This fabric is designed to shrink if needed at 50-60'C in a washing machine. It is ideal for use with wool fibres for nuno felting. This fine wool is great for shibori techniques and beautiful for natural dyeing and eco printing.

It will take steam-fix and Acid dyes, and is great for cosy scarves - no need to hem, just leave a finely frayed edge to make a fringe. It also makes a lovely warm lining for garments.

Many of our customers are making their own scarves from this fabric. An ideal size is 180 x 40/45cm, with the short edges unsewn and fringed, and the long edges hand-hemmed - as in the photo. You could also machine hem, or leave all edges raw and take out a few rows of thread to make a fringe. If you purchase 2 metres you could get 3 long scarves of this size from the piece.
