I know the saying is that there's more to a book than it's cover, but this is one of the most sumptuously presented hardback embroidery books that I've seen! The colourful front cover photo has 3D sequins and beads, the back has been stitched, the spine is leather-like and the page edges are mirror-like silver! The inside has 225 pages full of treasures... With more than 100 illustrations and 50 photographs, "Needles Out" re-establishes the techniques discussed in Nichole's previous books (which you don't need to have), which covered beautiful embroidery stitches with fabric collage. It lays a foundation for four new ones: beading/embellishing, stumpwork, fabric painting and needle felting. Each technique has three projects, so readers can continue to deepen their embroidery skills. There's a strong botanical element running through the book, and many projects are based on flowers and leaves.
