A collection of ready-outlined silk scarves and cushion covers from H Dupont, with new designs added frequently. The outline acts as a gutta resist - you just need to paint in the design using flowing silk paints or dyes. The Dupont steam-fix dyes used for each design are listed, use the cover photo as a colour guide or paint with your own choice of shades. Piere Willocq was the original designer of the Arty's range of ready-outlined scarves. Many of the designs are by him, with others by designers new to the range. IMPORTANT: If you wash your silk before painting, you will have to iron the gutta lines to give it back its watertightness. To get a perfect blend of colours in the silk, make sure your silk is perfectly stretched on your frame. Avoid painting too close to the gutta lines to make sure that the colours don’t bleed, although make sure that the paint has gone up to the gutta line. Avoid painting directly on the hem to prevent drying marks. Instead, paint up to the hem taking care that you put on enough paint to colour the hem.
