Our shop at 85 High Street is open 10-4, Monday to Saturday.

Prices

Prices may be subject to change at any time, as the suppliers that we deal with change their prices at different times of the year. Prices include VAT at the current rate. Our VAT registration number is GB 669 0866 85.

Payment

We accept Visa and Mastercard payment from the UK and internationally. We also take Maestro cards registered in the UK. We cannot accept Visa Electron cards. Your card is NOT processed when you place your order. We take the payment when the goods are packed ready to be despatched.

Discounts

Orders over £150 get a 4% discount and those over £250 get a 10% discount, except for the following items:

• Arty's silks that are already at bulk discount
• Larger items such as steamers, frames, rolls of freezer paper, electric gutta pens and batik pots
• Bottles and packets of paints, dyes, chemicals or batik waxes of individual size of 230ml/230g or more
• All books, magazines, DVDs and videos
• All kits which include paints and dyes
• All special offers

Postage and Packing

Free delivery on orders over £75 within the UK, except for orders including Trapilho selvedge yarn. 10% will be added for UK postage and packing, with a minimum of £1.50 (minimum £2.50 if the order includes paints, dyes, chemicals, books, magazines or other heavy items). Some heavy items including frames, Bubble Jet Set and Freezer paper already have the postage included in the price. Orders including Trapilho selvedge yarn will have an additional postage charge as follows: 1 item £3.95, 2 items £4.25, 3 or 4 items £8.35, 5 or 6 items £11.30, 7 to 10 items £12.50, 11 to 20 items £17.30 International postage and packing for all orders will be charged at cost.

If we need to send more than one shipment from one order within the UK, we generally charge the full postage charge with the first shipment, and back orders will be sent with no extra postage charge. For international orders we may add extra postage for back orders, as the charge is based on the total weight of the order - we will notify you by email.

Delivery Details

Please let us know if goods are needed by a particular date. Goods will normally be sent out within 3 to 5 working days of receipt, when items ordered are in stock. If we are out of stock of an item we will send the rest of the order, and send the item as soon as we can. For some items from abroad this could take longer than 28 days.

Order are sent First Class by Royal Mail within the UK, unless the order is very heavy or bulky, or includes frames, when it may go by Parcelforce and take about 5 days, or by courier.

Returns

If the item is not as you expected, you are welcome to return it within 7 days for a refund, provided the item is in perfect condition. Please phone or email us first. Items ordered specially, such as Arty's silks not in the list, are not returnable. If we have sent the wrong item in error we will refund or replace, and pay for the return postage of the item.

Problems

If something is wrong with your delivery, or any items are missing please email or phone to let us know within 5 days of receiving your order. Please note that the receipt is usually within a clear wallet on the outside of your parcel, marked "documents enclosed". We are only human, and some orders are very complicated! A quick message should put things right.

Disclaimer

Rainbow Silks can accept no responsibility for the performance of products we supply, as the conditions of use are beyond our control. Some of the dyed products are hand-dyed, and we cannot be held responsible for colours running or fading.

Please test any product out first on the materials that you intend to use for your main project. Please check fabrics for flaws before cutting or painting, as claims cannot be made for the use of dyes on faulty fabrics.

If products supplied are faulty we will happily refund or replace them, but cannot give refunds towards other items used.

Be Careful!

Always supervise children when using heat, chemicals, or anything sharp or dangerous.

Always test products first on a small piece of work. Take care when handling dyes and chemicals, as some may cause allergic reactions or irritations in some people. Do not breathe in powders - wear a dust mask and rubber gloves when using them. Work in a well ventilated room when using dyes and chemicals, or when burning fabrics and fibres. Keep separate implements for use with dyes.

When microwave-dyeing with steam-fix dyes, always keep separate implements for dyes only (not for food) and keep the bowl covered - it is advisable to keep a separate microwave for this type of dyeing.
